Reasons for Not Losing Weight - Discover 8 Reasons Why

8 Reasons you're not losing weight!

What's keeping you from not losing weight? Everybody's body is different. There could be many different reasons. One person's dilemma may not be the same as someone else.

First, let's check off the list some of the obvious reasons for not losing weight. Are you exercising? Are you eating healthy? Do you stay away from sugar filled beverages? Are you hormones balanced?

If you said yes to these questions, then move on to a more in depth look at your decision to lose extra pounds.

8 Reasons For Not Losing Weight

1. Negativity. Your body and mind are very closely connected. Be nice to yourself and your body. When your body is constantly feeling heavy laden with harmful words, it can continue in it's current state. Just like you would train a dog, give your body positive reinforcement to stop fat cell production.

2. Not being accountable. Choose someone or something to be accountable to for the choices you make everyday about food and exercise. Accountability makes the journey more real when you know you have to report your actions.

3. Too stressed out. Stress causes the hormone cortisol, to be released. Cortisol aids in fat cell production. Make sure you get some rest and relaxation. Calm nerves and anxieties, so that your body can use it's energy to burn fat cells instead of on stress.

4. Not writing down specific goals. Goals are just dreams unless they are written (or typed) and placed in a visual location. Be specific in your goal setting. Just saying that you want to lose weight, is too vague. You need to express exactly what you want to happen and how.

5. Not being grateful. Gratitude plays a positive role on your body's and minds responses. Be grateful for your body and the health that you already enjoy. Gratitude will help to balance your body and mind.

6. Hitting a plateau. If you are doing everything consistently and your metabolism has seemed to slow down, change it up. Try eating totally different veggies or fruit Switch your exercise to something different.

7. Not getting enough rest. Sleep is essential in keeping the body systems working optimally. Adequate sleep is important and helps renew energy.

8. Not tracking your food. Not knowing what you have specifically eaten in a day can leave room for mindless eating and too big portion sizes. A daily food journal is fun and easy. It will help you stay focused on your goals.

5 Reasons You're Not Losing Weight

Have you ever wondered why you can't lose weight in the long-term or get rid of those final few pounds? There may be several factors which are holding you back, let's take a look at five of the most common reasons you can't lose weight.

1.) You Are Not Getting Enough Sleep
Research has shown that people lacking sleep tend to have a high production of a hormone known as cortisol which is linked to fat storage in the body. Not getting enough sleep has also been linked to elevated levels of the hunger hormones (ghrelin and leptin). Therefore it is important to get sufficient sleep to ensure that your body is functioning properly.

2.) You Follow FAD Diets
The problem with many FAD diets is that they are not designed for long term weight loss. Many people who go on these types of diets do not give appropriate thought to how this could affect their health in the long term. In order to achieve successful long term weight loss it is advisable to follow programs which are geared to you making life style changes instead of just a 'quick fix.'

3.) You Eat Late At Night
When trying to lose weight, one of the worst times of day to eat is late at night. When you are tired you are a lot more likely to eat something that is convenient, rather than something which is nutritious. Also, if you eat shortly before going to bed, your body does not have a chance to burn off the calories that have been consumed. It is always advisable to eat small nutritious meals throughout the day, rather than waiting until you are starving and grabbing the first microwave meal you can find in the freezer.

4.) You Exercise Regime Is Not Varied Enough
It is important to have a varied exercise program as this will decrease the chances of you becoming bored with your exercise regime. When you become bored or too accustomed to your exercises, it becomes a lot more difficult to motivate yourself to continue doing it. Do some research on effective exercise routines and make a conscious effort to ensure your routine is varied.

5.) Your Eating Too Much Of The Same Thing
Variety is key to sticking to a healthy lifestyle. A diet which is full of variety and rich in both fruits, vegetable and other low calorie foods, is advisably the best way to achieve long term weight loss. So even if there are particular fruits and veggies that you prefer to stick too, try something new! Check out recipes for veggies that you are not as familiar with as well. Fruits and veggies have varying weight loss benefits so it is always advisable to mix it up a bit.
