Do You Need to Lose 20 Pounds?

Being overweight can be emotionally devastating especially if you need to lose 20 pounds. It may make sense to want to lose all that weight quickly; however, if you lose weight too quickly, it can be dangerous.

Whenever you are talking about losing large amounts of weight, you need to have a plan and stick to it. If you want to lose 20 pounds safely and quickly, follow the healthy plan below:

1. Cleanse Yourself

With all the junk that we put into our bodies, our bowel movements may be off. If you don't have regular bowel movements, you could have at least five pounds of weight stored up in your colon.

If your colon is full, you can't digest the other foods you are eating correctly which means it could possibly be making its way to your fat cells. So, the first things you need to do before starting your diet to lose 20 pounds is to get a colon cleanse. Clean your body out to start fresh.

2. Get rid of The Garbage

If you are like most households, you probably have boxes of processed foods in your cabinets, in your refrigerator, and in your freezer. You also probably have, chips, cookies, cakes, and maybe even some ice cream. Am I right? Well, get rid of it! That food is not helping you lose one sing pound.

In fact it is keeping that weight right there. Though, processed foods may be easy to make, they have little nutritional value. Thus, your body eats more to get the nutrients and stores the rest in your fat cells. So, your second step is to rid your house of all the junk and fill it with nutrient dense foods.

3. Start an Exercise Routine

Starting an exercise routine can be tough, but if you want to lose 20 pounds, it can be the best thing you have ever done. The key to losing weight through exercising is to exercise in the morning before breakfast so your body burns the fat instead of the calories you are eating.

Because you have not eaten for several hours when you wake up, your body has burnt all the food you have eaten as you slept. With nothing left for you to use for energy, the body then turns to the fat cells for energy to exercise.

So, your third step is to start exercising every morning before breakfast. Start out slow doing about 10 minutes and build yourself up to 30 minutes.

These three steps will get you on your way to lose 20 pounds and create a healthier, happier you. Make the effort to change your habits; you will be glad you did, and you will be able to keep the pounds off for good.

How I Lost 75 Pounds in 5 Months!

I thought it might be fun that I shared a part of my life with you guys. I'm 27 years old now and I have been in good shape for almost 2 years now. But that wasn't always the case! In fact, 2 years ago I was really overweight.

I was 75 pounds too heavy. Yes I know that eating fast food and not exercising enough was not a good idea. On top of that I had a knee injury that wouldn't go away. I was starting to feel chest pain at times and that worried me a lot as you can imagine.

One day, while I was playing hockey my knee seized and I couldn't move it at all, so I went to the hospital and the doctor said he had to operate on me right now. The doctor also added that I was too fat and that I needed to lose weight really fast in order to help my knee to cure and my health to get better. Still today, I sincerely think that this event saved my life. I finally decided to lose the extra pounds I had collected over the years. Guess what, it worked! I lost 75 pounds in 5 months and kept it all off since. How did I do? That is the question and in fact the answer is quit simple.

I started to play hockey 4 times a week and stopped eating cookies at night. I quit drinking soft drinks and replaced them with drinking water. This last tips is the key to losing weight. If you're a soft drink fan like I was and want to lose weight this is the first thing you must stop because you can easily drink 1000 calories in a day. This is more calories than a normal meal. I started to drink water because water hydrates and cleans your body at the same time and adds no calories. Also try to replace the french fries in your plate by eating vegetables.

That part was really hard for me but I actually started to feel better everyday so it was a powerful source of motivation. Remember that you don't have to do all of this tomorrow morning, but start gradually and it will become easier everyday and the fat will come off. The more fat you burn the more motivated you will be so take it easy but start now. I also want to tell you that it's really important that you don't feel like on a diet because it's not one. Let yourself enjoy a fast food meal once a week and be careful the rest of the week. Don't forget to exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes.

9 Weight Loss Tips For Taking the Pounds Off and Keeping Them Off

9 Weight Loss Tips For Taking the Pounds Off and Keeping Them Off

Losing weight and keeping it off can be a constant challenge. After a while, it is easy to lose motivation and just simply give up on your weight loss goals. It is much easier to stick to your weight loss goals when you have a course of action. Here are some weight loss tips that will help you achieve the look you desire.

Tip #1 - Set Concrete Weight Loss Goals

If you do not know what you want and how much weight you want to lose, it can be very difficult to lose weight. Having a specific goal in mind ensures that you will work towards losing the weight and maintaining your goal weight on a daily basis.

Tip #2 - Refrain from Constantly Weighing Yourself

It is much easier to lose weight when you do not become addicted to the scale. Since your weight tends to fluctuate on a daily basis, it can be frustrating to see those few pounds that you lost have mysteriously crept back on overnight.

Also, if weight training is a part of your exercise regimen, you may notice that you actually gain a few pounds before you start to drop weight. This is because muscle mass weighs more than fat. However, you should notice a difference in the way that your clothes fit.

Tip #3 - Take Measurements and Chart Your Progress

This tip actually ties into Tip #2. Taking measurements will show that you are actually losing inches and becoming smaller although the scale may not initially indicate this. It may help you to keep a chart with your chest, waist, hip, and thigh measurements. Charting your progress will help you stay motivated and continue working toward your weight loss goals.

Tip #4 - Don't Diet... Make Lifestyle Changes

Too often when people want to lose weight, they go on a diet. In most cases, these same people will lose and regain weight over and over again. In the end, most will end up heavier than they started. In order to lose the weight and maintain the changes, you will need to think about making lifestyle changes. Since this can be difficult in the beginning, it helps to start small. You can begin with something as simple as resolving to eat smaller meals on a regular basis and drinking more water.

Tip #5 - Drink More Water

Many times we think that you are hungry, you are actually dehydrated. Making sure that you drink plenty of water not only keeps you hydrated but also helps to flush the toxins from your body. Try to drink as much pure water as possible. If you do not like the taste of plain water, add a squeeze of lemon or lime. Also, try to avoid excess caffeine intake.

Tip #6 - Eat Regularly

Not only does eating regularly help to boost your metabolism, it also helps to keep you from overeating. Ever notice how ravenous you feel when you skip a meal or two? To prevent this from happening, make sure that you eat on a regular basis. If you make a habit of skipping meals, your metabolism slows and you began to store fat which only sabotages your weight loss goals.

Tip #7 - Get a Weight Loss Buddy or Join a Support Group

It is much easier to accomplish something when you have support. The same holds true for losing weight. If you have a friend who wants to lose weight also, then it will be easier for both of you to attain your goals by encouraging each other. If you cannot think of anyone to be your weight loss buddy, try joining an online support group or forum. Just do a search from your favorite search engine and you will find that hundreds of results are returned.

Tip #8 - Never Deny Yourself

It is true that you will need a measure of self control to help you lose weight. However, you should never deny yourself particular foods. Denying yourself only makes you desire the forbidden food even more. The trick is to manage your portions - try preparing portions in advance so that you do not overindulge.

Tip #9 - Get Back on the Horse

If you managed to do something that you feel is sabotaging your weight loss, do not berate yourself as a complete failure. Acknowledge, move on, and get back on the "weight loss horse". No one is perfect and you will not achieve your weight loss goals perfectly every time.

Hopefully, these 9 weight loss tips will help you achieve success with your weight loss goals. Remember, plan for success and you will be more apt to achieve it.

Lemons and Weight Loss - Lose 5 Pounds in a Week!

Lemons and Weight Loss - Lose 5 Pounds in a Week

Many questions arise when people explain the importance of using lemon for your weight loss diet. People ask "how is lemon beneficial for weight loss?" or "can lemons make me lose weight fast?" The answer to all this skeptic is yes. They help in losing weight.

Let me Explain How....

Lemons are well known for their vitamin C. They have a lot of it. They are also a very good detox agent to consider. Detox of your body is by far the most important and the first step in any weight loss program. And it starts with drinking a lot of water. Taking a right amount of water in your body everyday is a must to keep your body functioning well as it tends to help the body clean up toxins and other unwanted stuff wee intake everyday in our meals.

But, drinking a lot of water is a bit of boring to many people. So, I would suggest adding a small teaspoon or two of lemon juice in it. It will help dramatically for the functioning of your body, as the citric acid present in them is a very good detox agent. The other thing is that this acid move the extra flab of your body helps in using it for your daily activities. Ultimately, this means you lose that extra flab and lose weight in the process.

Losing 5 pounds a week can be achieved if you do the following steps...

Mix lemon juice in a glass of lukewarm water, and drink it on an empty stomach when you wake up in the morning. This helps to move that extra flab in your body and use it right from the start and remove that fat of the body. If you do it continuously on a daily, you will automatically see the results.

Apart from using lemons in your weight loss plan it is vitally important to exercise as it goes hand in hand with the weight loss process. And if you have a good exercise regime built up for yourself, it will help in using that moved fat of your body to build muscle also, and apparently losing weight.

Using honey along with lemons also speeds up the process dramatically. Honey is well known for its detoxing capabilities. And having it with lemon is like cherry on top of a wedding cake.

So, change your diet plan and include the lemons and exercise schedule in the new one.
