3 Dieting Myths That are Killing Your Weight Loss Efforts!

3 Diet myths that make you gain weight!

There are a lot of dieting myths circulating the globe today and most of them are simply old myths that some people simply can't let go of for some reason.

The problem with dieting myths is that many of them are very widespread and since most people simply "follow the crowd" when it comes to fitness advice, there are now millions of people going in the wrong direction.

Why do you think the entire world is growing more and more overweight every single year?

In this article I'm going to give you 3 specific dieting myths that are killing your weight loss efforts. When you turn them around and start doing the right thing, you're virtually guaranteed to have more success!

So let's get started.

1) Eat Fat And You'll Get Fat - This common dieting myth says that if you eat fatty foods such as avocados, nuts, olive oil and eggs are horrible for you in terms of gaining weight. Well, there's also another side to the story.

First of all, weight loss happens when you consume less calories than you burn. So at the end of the day if you eat 2,000 calories but burn off 2,100 - you've lost weight. Also, if you choose the right fats (like I mentioned above) - they can actually help you lose weight!

2) Eating Late At Night Makes You Fat - This one is kind of a half-myth. The reason it's only half a dieting myth is simply because it's only eating carbohydrates at night that makes you fat. Your body goes on a 24 hour cycle - it doesn't stop when you sleep.

However, your body can't process carbs very well late at night because it knows your slowing down to get ready for bed so a higher percentage of carbs get turned into fat instead of fuel.

3) You Have To Eat 6 Meals Per Day - Woah, I didn't just say that, did i? Yes, I did! The whole 6 meals per day thing increasing your metabolism is one big fat myth. There is absolutely no evidence proving it. It's all about calories in versus calories out, no matter if you eat them in one sitting or in 20 sittings.

You have to experiment with your own life and see what works best for you. Some people do great eating once or twice a day, some people do better eating 5-6 times per day. Just try it and see!

There are a lot of dieting myths out there but I chose these 3 because I think they're the ones you need to watch out for the most. Especially eating 6 meals per day. Many people start gaining weight because they can't control their meal portions well enough and start overeating!

Stop following the mainstream crowd and you'll never have to worry about dieting myths again. Many times, you can simply do the opposite of what the average person does and you'll do great. But the most important thing is that you simply experiment and see what works best for you.
