4 Small Changes to Lose Weight Fast

4 Small Changes to Lose Weight Fast

It is possible to make just 4 small changes in your life that will make you lose weight fast and start dropping the pounds on autopilot. These are things which the majority of us do, without thinking, that sabotage our efforts to be slim and trim, and these are the most probable culprits as to why so many of our attempts at dieting fail so spectacularly.

I can't. Where are the magic pills? It sounds so easy, so what do I have to take? I tried that before and it didn't work! That won't work because it doesn't cost anything. I can't. There is NO WAY I'm giving THAT up! But I switched to DIET soft drinks.

Any of those sound familiar? Maybe you have even said something like that yourself. It doesn't matter and you can do it. In fact, that is the first small change you can make and will be the one that will most likely have the most impact as well.

Here are the things you can change to lose weight fast:

Change Your Attitude - One of the biggest contributors to failing diets is the fact that the person attempting to lose weight doesn't think they can do it, and they consequently always prove themselves correct. In order to lose weight fast you have to first believe that you can.

Change Your Diet - When it comes to dieting, many people think it has more to do with how much you eat, and not so much with exactly what you are eating. And they fail. Your body will not let you starve yourself to a new and better you, in fact, just the opposite will happen. If your body thinks it is not getting enough food, it will start storing everything it does get, as more fat. So this should really be: change what you eat.

Here goes the easy part: eat a well-balanced diet of good, wholesome and natural foods, and follow your doctor's advice for eating.

Here's the hard part: remove (and I mean take out of the house completely) all pre-packaged, processed, or canned food from your diet. Yes, that especially means white bread. Get rid of anything with sugar added, or artificially sweetened with aspartame (NutraSweet), sucralose (Splenda) and anything sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. That does mean no soda, and especially no diet drinks. Try water instead, and in fact, try at least 8 to 10 glasses of water each and every day. Oh, and stay as far away as you can from any fast food joint.

Change Your Activity - Get up and start moving. Best advice I ever heard from a doctor on losing weight was this, "Eat less and move more." Profound, wouldn't you agree? The more you move and challenge your body with increasing activity levels, the more your metabolism will increase and your body will actually start using the stored fat that is already there, instead of trying to put more away in storage around your middle. Get your doctor's advice on any limits on your activities, but the idea here is to just move more. If you can't yet start an exercise program, but you can walk, then every day set aside a time and walk as far and as fast as you are able. Try to go a little more each day.

Change Your Direction - Set goals for yourself and your life. Write them down. How are you going to get anywhere if you don't even know where you are going? Set realistic and attainable goals, but do challenge yourself. To help you with your health, fitness and weight goals, find a good weight loss program and stick with it. Having an organized and consistent routine will help keep you on track to accomplish your goals.

Make these simple, yet profound changes in your life and you will not only lose weight fat, you will be a lot healthier, sleep better at night and have more energy and clearer thoughts during the day.

3 Changes That Lead To Weight Loss

3 Changes That Lead To Weight Loss

One of the biggest industries in the world, the weight loss industry has left many people dissatisfied, and many satisfied. Why is it that some people become so disappointed when it comes to losing weight? How is it that these individuals are unable to taste success in getting down to their set weight, while others are able to so easily get down to their right weight? The answer is actually quite simple: the perception of weight loss varies from person to person. Weight loss is not about bringing a temporary change in your life; you can't just stop eating processed foods and drinking sodas for three months in a row, and when you reach your healthy weight, start back on. It'll only bring the weight back on! Instead, a wiser idea is to take a more calculated approach. Here are three changes that you need to bring which are guaranteed to lead to weight loss:

1. A slow approach to exercising

When it comes to weight loss, exercising is the most important part. However, most people tend to do it wrong. Sustaining an hour of exercise in a day is difficult for most people, and when this change is brought about without any prior habits, it becomes even more difficult to manage. One day you're not exercising at all, and the next you're spending an hour in the gym. While this is great for the first few days, it is unlikely that you will be able to sustain this level of exercise over a month or two. To lose weight, start exercising slowly. Build a habit. Simply exercise ten minutes in a day in the beginning until you've formed a habit of those ten minutes, and then turn it up a notch to twenty. Progress slowly!

2. A positive eating approach

Your body is used to eating fast foods and processed items. It is difficult for the body to suddenly stop taking in all of its required calorie content and instead move simply on natural foods. Most weight watchers bring about this drastic change, and suffer from immense weakness as a result. If you want to lose weight in a healthy manner, it is a wiser idea to simply replace one meal of your day with a healthy one. As your body gets accustomed to natural foods, it'll want more and more, and soon you'll want to eat nothing but healthy foods in the long run.

3. An adequate night's rest

One of the main reasons why the body puts on weight is because of a lack of sleep. If you are unable to put in at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep in a day, the body is likely to suffer and store on extra pounds as a result. It is recommended that you first begin by sleeping properly. Make sure you get a good mattress for yourself, and make the environment as comfortable as possible before you do fall asleep. This will allow you to relax in a better manner.

Small Changes Can Yield Big Weight Loss Results

Small Changes Can Yield Big Weight Loss Results
Most people think that in order to lose weight and keep it off they have to make huge transformations in their daily lives. But, the truth is small changes add up and are easier to live with long term.

Start by thinking about your weight loss and fitness goals. Do you have a lot of weight to lose or are you struggling with those pesky last 10-20 pounds? Regardless of where you are health and fitness wise, there are places in your life that can be effectively changed to help you shed pounds.

In order to lose weight you need to be consistent with your diet and exercise program. Choose a plan that you can live with and begin looking at extra time in your day that you can set aside to exercise. Make a contract with yourself that you seek out opportunities each and every day to exercise or to eat better.

For example, you could take a walk on your lunch break, you could stop taking the elevator or escalator at your job or in your apartment building, wake yourself up in the mornings with stretches and simple moves, or do your chores with more vigor. Think about all of your daily activities and start finding ways to make it an effective way to burn calories.

Plan ahead. Every Sunday evening sit down and go over your week ahead. Do you know you have events coming up that could challenge your weight loss efforts? Come up with a plan of action for that day, perhaps you will decide to eat before the party or event. Or if you are planning a cook out with friends find healthful recipes to bring along with you. If you know of a restaurant you will be eating at some time during the week, search for the menu online and find the best options for your diet.

Planning meal ideas for the week ahead can take the guess work out of last minute meals. Have a go-to list of meals that you can prepare with the ingredients that you have on hand. Know the nutritional information of the foods you keep in the house on a regular basis.

Designate one day of the week to allow junk food. Maybe you have a major sweet tooth or you worry that the junk food junkies will suffer with your new diet efforts. Instead, schedule one day a week that you prepare a favorite dessert for yourself and your friends or family. Instead of daily snacks and sweets, save these items for once a week and savor them in moderation. Don't let one guilty indulgence derail your weight loss goals. Simply, enjoy and then move on.

Find ways burn calories while relaxing or spending time with friends and family. So many times we only gather with the people in our lives over food and dessert. But, it doesn't have to be this way! Consider a group activity that will get everyone involved while helping you to burn calories. Think about group dancing, volleyball, badminton or any activity that will get your blood pumping. This could be a new tradition that will create lasting memories.

Never go hungry! Keep snacks on hand in your purse or car that will help you through those times when you need to eat something, but are pinched with time. Often times being stuck with hunger and little time could end up in the drive through, however if you have a nutritional bar or almonds on hand you could keep going until your next meal. If you must eat at a drive through opt for salads and grilled items. Skip the fries and excess cheese!
