How to Drink More Water to Improve Your Fitness and Fat Loss Goals

How to Drink More Water to Improve Your Fitness Goals?

Water is a vital part of any fitness and training program, however many people have trouble consuming the adequate levels of water in order to achieve proper hydration.

Staying hydrated is critical for those individuals who are training to lose fat and weight. Often times, people are holding onto a few extra pounds simply because they are dehydrated.

How does water affect your fat loss? Well, the liver helps to metabolize fat and break it down for energy. The liver also has to help out the kidneys if they are not working as productively as they should.

When the kidneys are water deprived, the liver has to work extra hard thus keeping it from its fat break down. If this process occurs, you are setting yourself up for a much less efficient fat loss process.

Many people try to drink more water but ultimately get frustrated with the process because we all know what happens. When your body is getting used to all of the fluids, and flushing excess out of your body, you are in the bathroom all day. This does subside eventually so you must be patient.

A basic rule of thumb is to take your body weight in pounds and cut that in half. That is how many ounces of water you should drink per day.

For example; a 140 pound woman should drink about 70 ounces per day. This should be a baseline and should be increased when you are exercising and training, or if you are in a very warm climate.

Here are some basic hydration training tips:

1. Keep a bottle or glass of water at your desk
2. Make regular trips to the fountain to fill up, try to go every hour
3. Be sure to have a bottle with you at the gym when you are training and try to finish it
4. Drink 1-2 glasses first thing in the morning. This will take care of 8-16 ounces right away
5. Drink water with every meal
6. Have a glass or two at home while relaxing instead of beer or wine

These small tips can make a huge difference in your body composition, your weight loss progress and your overall energy levels. Increased energy also leads to more productive workouts and training sessions, which lead to improved fat loss. Give these tips a try and be sure to incorporate water with a balanced and healthy diet.

9 Easy Tips For How to Drink More Water

9 Simple Things You Can Do To Drink More Water!

OK, you've read all the advice that says you should drink more water. Maybe you've even tried to increase your water intake but didn't quite make it to a fully fledged habit. Check out these easy tips for how to drink more water.

1. Keep a glass or bottle nearby

If you're constantly having to make special trips to get your water then you'll drink less than if it's within easy reach at least most of the time.

If you're not in danger of knocking the glass over and drowning your computer, keep a glass near that. But if you're on the clumsy side of things, a bottle would be more sensible.

2. Sip regularly

It's usually much easier to take regular sips of water than it is to gulp down a whole glass full of the liquid.

Make it a habit to take regular sips of water and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how fast you get through it without feeling that you're enduring punishment.

3. Build up slowly

Most people think that they will be forever visiting the rest room if they slurp down the recommended 8 glasses a day.

That is less likely to happen if you gradually build up your water intake. So if you're not drinking more than a glass or two most days, decide that you're going to increase by, say, an extra glass per day each week. So this week you'd aim for 3 glasses a day, next week 4 glasses and so on.

4. Don't panic if you forget

New habits take time to learn. And that includes drinking more water.

Just because you occasionally don't remember to drink lots of water each day doesn't mean that you've failed. Do it as often as possible.

For instance, my routine is different at weekends and I regularly find that I drink less water than I do on week days. But I keep at it and it works!

5. Migrate your drinking

If you regularly drink soft drinks, tea or coffee than swap some of these for water over the next few weeks.

You'll keep drinking the same quantity of liquid but an increasing amount of it will be water rather than water plus other ingredients.

6. Keep track, especially at first

Until drinking more water becomes second nature it pays to keep a fairly tight track of what you're drinking.

Probably not quite as far as writing down a log, although some people do this, but definitely something as easy a few ticks on a notepad won't hurt.

7. Drink with your meals

In much the same way as waiters will keep your glass topped up with wine or beer, make sure that you have a topped up glass of water with each meal. And actually drink from it, rather than using it as a table decoration.

8. Place a bet

If someone else you know also needs to drink more water then challenge them to see which of you can drink more glasses of water (within reason of course) over the next couple of weeks.

That's long enough to make sure that one of you doesn't cheat and just drink gallons for a day or two. It's also long enough for both of you to get in the habit of drinking more water as a matter of course.

9. Make it automatic

If there's almost always a glass of water within arms reach, after a while you'll find yourself automatically reaching out for a sip. Which will serve as a reminder if for any reason you haven't remembered to get your fill of water today.

Drinking Lemon Water to Lose Weight: Why You Should Do It

Drinking Lemon Water to Lose Weight
Today the weight loss industry is full of lots of different and confusing information and many diets, diet foods and gyms but sometimes the simplest things are the ones that work. Drinking lemon water to lose weight is one of the simplest things that you can do and it is extremely healthy for your body. Lemons are cheap and they can boost your immunity, help digestion and also good for the heart.

They have a multitude of benefits for people trying to lose weight and improve their overall health. They are one of nature's healthy cocktails loaded with pectin, vitamin C and citric acid. All these can help your body regulate its systems more efficiently. Consuming lemons will get waste out of you quicker and help you shed the pounds faster.

The problem is that they are very sour and not very many people can eat them like an orange or apple so the best way to take them into your body is in making lemon water to drink to lose weight. Just slice up some lemons and add them to all the glasses of water that you would drink each day or buy some lemon juice and squeeze it into your water.

Citric acid is high in lemons and this high amount can cause the acid in your stomach to increase. Higher amounts of citric acid helps the stomach and other digestive organs to work better and break food down easier which will help you absorb more nutrition from the other foods that you eat and will help remove the waste better. This action will help your body lose weight more efficiently and not store fat. Food moves though the digestive tract faster. Just think, combining this with a healthy diet and exercise and you would have a perfect weight loss plan that is healthy and good for you.

Vitamin C is also important for losing weight and a healthy body and lemons are loaded with it. Increasing your intake of vitamin C helps keep the immune system charged up and increases the amount of carnitine which helps the body keep off excess fat out of the muscles.

Pectin is also found in lemons and it also helps the digestive system increase its efficiency. Pectin also lowers the glucose levels and aids in lowering cholesterol which keeps your heart healthy. When these three power houses are put together into a tiny lemon it makes for one healthy food. But there is one other benefit that lemons have on the body.

They alkalize rather than acidify. This is weird because they are an acidic fruit but when they are digested they do the opposite which is alkalize. This is good for you because it reduces excess mucous and helps with inflammation in tissues and other areas of the body and makes it easier to lose weight. Studies are showing that inflammation can cause all sorts of bad health effects.

So drinking lemon water to lose weight is a cheap but healthy thing and very simple. Often the simplest things work the best. So with lemons you get the best of both worlds, an easy weight loss aid and a health boost to your system.

Why Drinking Water With Lemon For Weight Loss Is A Good Idea?

Why Drinking Water With Lemon For Weight Loss Is a Good Idea

It seems that nowadays people are beginning to embrace weight loss to maintain good health. As you might expect, water can play a big part to successful weight loss diet and plans. Water is an essential element to our general health as well as for weight loss and therefore drinking enough water each day is important. This article discusses why drinking water with lemon for weight loss is a good idea.

Firstly, water is essential for our general health as it helps digestion, absorption of food and eliminates residues. It regulates the body temperature as well as gives us a nice skin. Our body is made up of 50 to 70 percent of water and common sense tells us to drink enough water each day especially if you're into weight loss.

Secondly, water is an essential component for weight loss. It is needed to break down food and convert it to energy in a process known as metabolism. Typically, you need to drink 8 glasses of water a day in order that your metabolism can function properly.

Since starting on a weight loss diet plan, I drank so much water these days that now I yearn to drink something with a different taste. However, most drinks give our body a lot of calories (eg. soda and beverages) as they usually have quite a fair bit of sugar. Coffee is my favorite beverage but it also contains caffeine which having too much is not good for the body.

So, I had to find an alternative - which is flavored water. Now, you have to beware of bottled fruit juice too as one day I read the label and got a rude shock. It contains around 50 calories and certainly I'm not going to drink that just as flavored water!

Fortunately, my wife heard this on radio one day - that the effect of lemon is that it is alkalizing to the body, cleansing and amazing for our skin and digestive system and recommended it for health and weight loss purposes.

Now you know that drinking water with lemon for weight loss is a good idea, I urge you to start your day with a glass of warm water with a thin slice of lemon like I do.

How Water With Lemon For Weight Loss Works

How Water With Lemon For Weight Loss Works

There is some scientific evidence to support the notion that water with lemon for weight loss works. However, there is some important side information that puts the theory into the "grey" category. Obviously, drinking lemon water every day whilst scoffing hamburgers and fries for breakfast, lunch and dinner is definitely not going to help you lose weight! This article outlines proven ways that you can lose weight with the help of lemon and water.

The primary action in which lemon helps you lose weight is by kick starting your metabolism to process food. This works much the same way as apple cider vinegar, by optimising the pH level in the gut, and through to the "other side". It is, in a way, a digestion aid.

Obviously, there are plenty more positives in drinking water with lemon for weight loss. It helps the body flush out impurities, which in turn puts less strain on the liver, which in turn helps it process fats. It also contains a good amount of Vitamin C, which is one of the most important substances in the body. It helps keep the immune system in tip top shape, and aids with the absorption of other vitamins and minerals.

With all this talk of lemon for weight loss, it's probably time to point out that if you're serious about transforming your body, you should make the choice now to commit to a full weight loss routine. There is nothing difficult in doing so, and there are no negatives to improving your diet and increasing your exercise.

How Water Helps You Lose Weight in Safe Diets

How Water Helps You Lose Weight in Safe Diets

We are all seeking safe diets that will help us lose weight quickly, but not kill us in the process. Right? Here's an easily overlooked factor that should be included in ALL safe diets...

The big theory - that water plays an important role in safe diets - is very popular and widespread. It is generally accepted as a key element in safe diets and few if any people argue it's effectiveness. When it comes to losing weight, we can use all the tips and pointers we can get, so let's check it out.

It seems simplistic, but safe diets are all about one thing, burning more calories than we take in. Sounds easy enough, how does water fit in?

Water is unique in that it has no calories and you never have to think twice about drinking it! Drink all you want - it's good for you! Not only do you never have to worry about it, most of us don't get enough! Make it a regular daily habit. Water helps safe diets in a myriad of ways...

First...Being calorie free means it can't screw up your diet! No extra weight gain there! In fact, drinking water before and with your meals will help you control your appetite and eat less.

Second...your system is full of toxins. Water helps to flush them out. It also helps hydrate your blood, cleanse the kidneys, assist the liver and more. There are quite a few health and general well being benefits.

Third...your brain function is enhanced by drinking water throughout the day! When you haven't been drinking enough, you start to feel tired, headachy and sluggish. Most of us have been living with these symptoms our whole lives and never realized the cause of them. A glass in the morning will help you feel alive and alert.

All safe diets tell you to eliminate sugar based drinks. Carbonated sodas, sugared fruit juices and so on. What to drink instead? Many of us reach for diet drinks, but they contain chemicals that are VERY bad for you. Water is the answer of course.

Not only are carbonated beverages packed with sugar (and sodium), but they also contain bunches of carcinogenic chemicals and food coloring. Some cause cancer, others mess up your hormonal balance, some are addictive (caffeine) and some damage brain cells.

If your diet includes them, it's not one of the safe diets and you should stop right away. They're just empty calories that pack on the pounds and offer no nutritional value. It is a challenge at first, but once you are weaned off them, you'll never return.

Try getting a water filter if you don't like the taste of the water from your faucets. Actually, you should get a filter even if the taste is no problem. Other choices could be to buy spring water.

Different brands taste differently so try several to find the one that is most to your liking.

Though it will help fill you up, water is NEVER a food substitute. Think of it as a supplement. You could drink enough so that you can skip meals without feeling hunger, but no safe diets would recommend this. It's a very bad, unhealthy idea. But, whenever tempted to reach for a fruit juice or soft drink, reach for the water instead.

Experts say you need 8 ounces of water with lemon per day - that's just for the average person. If you're overweight you will need more. As a rule of thumb you should be having 8-10 half pint glasses a day or 4 pint glasses for good weight loss.

Well for a start, your bodily organs need water. If they do not get enough they will not function properly at there optimal point. For instance you kidney stores fat if it does not get enough fluid so it is very important you drink lots of water with lemon for weight loss.

Your body and brain tells your kidney that you don't have enough fluid so your kidney will store all the water it can because it does not know when it will next get some. The water will get stored all over your body and mainly places you don't want it like your belly.

You also need fluid in your body to flush out toxins buy sweating through the skin and through urine. This allows that stored fat to be turned into fuel. You will then be able to easily burn that fat off with exercise.

The main thing is drinking the water weather it is hot or cold. Don't get too concerned about the temperature. Go with what you feel is best for you if you like drinking water cold then do that and like wise with hot water. But what I will say is don't drink to much at once experts say drinking a lot at one go can be bad for you. Just stick to a pint at a time drinking 4 pints a day and spread then out and you will be fine.

Drinking water with lemon for weight loss is grate because it adds a nice taste to your water. It's much better than drinking plain water and it adds other benefits too.
